C&D Blinds was established in 1985 solidifying its spot in the industry as a Tasmanian operated Vertical and Holland Blind manufacturer in Derwent Park, Hobart.
As the years progressed, C&D Blinds began to offer more products to compete with the ever changing industry. This included the introduction of Venetian Blinds, Cellular Blinds and Curtains as the demand grew more popular throughout the city of Hobart.
During the mid 90s, as demand for technology advanced, C&D Blinds began to offer a range of motorised products, including motorised roller blinds and curtain tracks. Today, we offer three levels of motorisation: Entry level 240v motorisation, Somfy re-chargeable battery motorisation and Smartphone/Voice Operated 240v motorisation from Somfy's home automation range.
In the mid 2000s, C&D Blinds ceased manufacturing in Derwent Park, due to the rising costs of shipping to Tasmania, we then began outsourcing our products from Victoria, South Australia and Burnie, Tasmania. This is around the time we also began to offer our first outdoor product, the Ziptrak© Blind.
In 2018, C&D Blinds is still locally owned as a small, father and son operated business, specialising in domestic and small commercial work. All products and fabrics are manufactured and assembled here in Australia and we also do everything, from the measure and quote, to the install.
